When you need to bring out the big guns, this is the shovel you’ll want in your arsenal.  The 38D is in essence the Relic Hunter (on steroids) with a wide flat panel that makes short work of digging larger holes and a comfortable D-shaped handle allowing you to put your back into it.  The added weight and size may keep you from hiking long distances , but for digging meteorites or Civil War trash pits this shovel is key.
